Philippine Pavilion at the 58th Venice Art Biennale

Deputy Speaker and Antique Congresswoman Loren Legarda has once again lauded the Philippine pavilion in arsenale in Venice, featured at the 58th International Art Exhibition: Biennale Arte 2019. It is curated by Tessa Maria Guazon, featuring artist Mark Justiniani.

Titled ‘Island Weather’, it is an immersive space that stimulates a voyage to provoke deeper conversations about ways of seeing and the manner of perception, the nature of space, and the constructs of time.

Deputy Speaker Legarda’s vision and perseverance all these years and with the able support of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) have brought the Philippines to the Venice Biennale. Philippines was able to return in 2015, after a 51-year hiatus, and has continued to participate since then. We bring our pavilion home afterwards for all Filipinos to appreciate.
