Legarda: Pangalagaan Natin Ang Wikang Pambansa at Katutubo

Bilang pakikiisa sa pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa ngayong Agosto, iginiit ni Senadora Loren Legarda ang pagpapahalaga hindi lamang sa Wikang Filipino ngunit pati na rin sa mga katutubong wika sa Pilipinas.
 
Ayon kay Legarda, mahalaga ang pagkakaroon ng malalim na pag-unawa at tamang paggamit ng Wikang Filipino sa pakikipag-ugnayan ng mga mamamayan sa isa’t isa, higit lalo sa mga usapin patungkol sa kaunlaran, kapayapaan at katarungan.

Legarda Commends Pangalay Dancer and Cultural Heritage Hero Fernando-Amilbangsa

Senator Loren Legarda, a staunch supporter of arts and culture, commended Ligaya Fernando-Amilbangsa as a cultural advocate of pangalay, a traditional dance from Mindanao.
 
Legarda filed Senate Resolution 1527, citing Fernando-Amilbangsa as an instrumental figure in the continuation of pangalay which she has documented, studied, performed and preserved through scholarly writing and training of other pangalay dancers.

Senator Loren Legarda urged Filipinos to visit the exhibit titled The Vexed Contemporary, which was officially opened today at the Museum of Contemporary Art Design (MCAD) at De la Salle – College of Saint Benilde.

Act Now Before China Air Pollution Crisis Happens to PHL – Legarda

Senator Loren Legarda today said the Philippines should take bolder action in reducing carbon emissions following a report that air pollution in China is killing about 4,000 people a day.
 
“We should act quickly to prevent such an incident – severe air pollution – from happening in our country. At Venice Biennale, Medalla leads singing of ‘Sitsiritsit, Alibangbang’

VENICE—The Philippine Pavilion at this year’s Venice Biennale has appeared on several lists of not-to-miss spaces for its thought-provoking theme, “Tie a String around the World.”
Curator Patrick Flores, who came up with the theme, says it deals with world-making and the formation of empires.

Philippine eagles are critically endangered animals and it is unlawful for anyone to take the life of endangered species.
Senator Loren Legarda stressed this point as she condemned the recent killing of a Philippine eagle named “Pamana” that was found dead in Mount Hamiguitan Range, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Davao Oriental.
