Congratulations to my dear colleague, Senator Pia Cayetano, and the United Nations Gender Thematic Group on the impactful ‘Walk in Her Shoes’ exhibit, for shedding light on the harsh realities faced by women and girls affected by gender-based violence. As a staunch advocate for the protection and prevention of all forms of violence against women, I commend Senator Pia Cayetano for her dedication to this important cause.
Let us continue working together to safeguard the well-being of women and children, reinforcing the strength of laws such as the Magna Carta of Women (R.A. 9710), the Anti-Violence Against Women and Children Act of 2004 (R.A. 9262) and the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2012 (R.A. 10364).
