Visit of Frankfurter Buchmesse and German publishers to Philippine Book Festival and to various bookstores

Our German publisher guests joined us at the Grand Opening Ceremony of the Philippine Book Festival (PBF) at the World Trade Center on April 25. This occasion not only allowed them to delve into the rich tapestry of Filipino literature but also fostered interactions with various stakeholders within the local publishing industry.

Aside from visiting booths and interacting with local publishers and writers, they also engaged in pitch sessions to facilitate fruitful exchanges of ideas and discussions on potential collaborations between German and Filipino publishers.
The German publishers also visited the Fully Booked and Everything’s Fine bookstores, enriching their understanding of the readership landscape in the country. They then met with an official of Goethe-Institut Manila, a German language school in Makati.

Throughout their stay, the German Publishers were introduced to our local cuisine and dishes such as adobo, lumpiang shanghai, and sinigang, which quickly became one of the highlights of their trip. Indeed, the past days have been equally productive and enjoyable, providing them with deeper insights of Filipino culture and content.
