I am honored to have shared my work as a legislator for 25 years in the UN Women panel discussion with Australian Ambassador Hae Kyong “HK” Yu, moderated by UN Women National Goodwill Ambassador Karen Davila. As principal author of the Anti-violence Against Women and Children law in my first term as Senator in 1998, I stressed the need to effectively implement our laws, protect the rights of women and girls, provide livelihood opportunities for women, as well as basic needs for sanitation and nutrition, and training for climate and disaster risk reduction. Much to do for women, who are said to hold up “half the sky”.
Congratulations, Karen Davila and Len Mesina, for a productive discussion of like-minded individuals.
