Last Tuesday night was exceptionally special as I had the privilege of celebrating the New Year with distinguished women who were graciously hosted by the French Ambassador, H.E. Marie Fontanel, at her residence. The atmosphere was filled with joy and solidarity, reflecting the spirit of hope and empowerment that permeated the gathering.
As we embraced the transition to a new year, we acknowledged the anticipation of fresh opportunities and inevitable challenges that lay ahead. It was heartening to witness the collective readiness among us, women from various fields, to confront and conquer whatever obstacles this year might present.
With this, I am committed to advocating proposed measures in this 19th Congress that would further empower women and promote gender equality, such as the establishment of the National Museum of Filipino Women, the Dignity for Women Deprived of Liberty Act, and the Gender Responsive and Inclusive Pandemic Management Act. These would complement the landmark laws that I have championed such as The Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act, The Magna Carta of Women, and The Anti-Violence Against Women and Children Act.
