Quiapo Walking Tour (July 11, 2024)
Last Thursday, the Committee on Culture and the Arts embarked on a walking tour to explore and understand the cultural, historical, and religious significance of Quiapo District, visiting landmarks such as Plaza Miranda, Quiapo Church, Quinta Market, Manila Golden Mosque and Cultural Center, Bahay Nakpil-Bautista, Hidalgo Street, San Sebastian Church, and other notable sites.
Following our tour, we held a consultative meeting at the Department of Tourism, Culture and Arts of Manila Conference Room at Manila City Hall. This meeting aimed to listen and address the stakeholders’ insights and concerns regarding the proposed bill declaring Quiapo District a National Heritage Zone.
