Yesterday, we discussed Senate Bill No. 2439, or “An Act Institutionalizing the Philippine Ecosystem and Natural Capital Accounting System.” This measure will be responsible for gathering important information concerning our ecosystem, such as the values of the utilized goods and services we get from our natural resources. Through its institutionalization, we would have an accurate and reliable source of information that will serve as the basis for the planning and formulating of development policies and programs, which is vital to our continuous efforts to protect and conserve our environment.
