We reached another meaningful milestone as we launched the very first sculpture garden in the Philippines in the beautiful natural surroundings of the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB).
Sharing the same passion for art, culture, and the environment, I am beyond grateful and happy to have collaborated with my good friend, Junyee, one of the pioneers of installation art in the country, UP Los Baños, and other Filipino artists who contributed their expertise and support for the realization of this project.
This sculpture garden with a Pavilion designed by Architect Bimbo Baltre is a sanctuary of Junyee’s six decades of artistic expression featuring different installations that have meaningful social relevance, including Balag and Angud, the Bantayog ng Wika, the Bagong Binhi, the Ugnayan, and of course Makiling.
Through the arts, we can nurture our creative freedom, allowing us to think critically and express our aspirations for a better and brighter world.
