Miss Earth 2024 in Batangas Day 1: Coastal Clean Up (November 03, 2024)

Photos taken a week ago show the initiative of the ladies, in cooperation with the local community. At the beautiful shoreline of Peninsula de Punta Fuego in Nasugbu, we invited the candidates of Miss Earth 2024 for a coastal cleanup as part of their Batangas visit. Nasugbu is a popular escape for both locals and visitors, offering serene stretches of beach perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and sunset viewing.

This coastal cleanup aligns with the principles of the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act and the Clean Water Act, which I authored to promote waste reduction, recycling, and protect our water sources.

We further reinforce policies that protect against environmental damage by advocating for the proposed Blue Economy Act, which promotes sustainable practices that balance economic growth with ocean health, benefiting both our communities and marine ecosystems.

Through efforts like these, we hope to inspire a broader commitment to environmental preservation, showing that every effort contributes to a healthier, more resilient Philippines.
