Melissa Yeung Yap’s ‘Bintana sa Pintô’ Exhibit

An inspiring Sunday afternoon as I attended the opening of Melissa Yeung Yap’s exhibit, ‘Bintana sa Pintô,’ at the Pinto Art Museum and Arboretum. Her paintings, seamlessly blending indigenous textiles with acrylic art, truly capture the essence of Philippine culture and the environment. As a long-time advocate for culture and the arts, I am deeply moved by Melissa’s dedication to preserving and promoting our heritage.
From supporting Schools of Living Traditions to championing initiatives like Hibla and Likha-an, and through legislating for the preservation of arts with laws such as the Cultural Mapping Law, our cultural heritage is a treasure worth celebrating. ?
