Meeting with Malaysian Ambassador, H.E. Dato’ Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino bin Anthony

I had a productive discussion yesterday with the Malaysian Ambassador, H.E. Dato’ Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino bin Anthony, focusing on strengthening our parliamentary and socio-economic partnerships.
We seek to work together on vital initiatives such as mangrove reforestation and fisherfolk empowerment for environmental protection and job generation, alongside Malaysia’s contributions to peace and development in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
I also showed the Ambassador the displayed sustainable products and local works of art in my office. Our discussions about culture and the arts led me to discover the Kuala Lumpur Craft Complex, an iconic art tourism destination in Malaysia and a one-stop shop center for local arts and crafts products which I wish to replicate in the Philippines.
Exciting collaborations lie ahead as we approach the 60th anniversary of our bilateral relations, including the Lanao del Norte port facility and capacity building in financial management.
We are also aligned in establishing a parliamentary friendship association in the Senate. ?????
