KatHABI – A Textile Innovation Exhibit

In support of the latest advancements in Philippine textiles, I proudly opened the ‘KatHABI – A Textile Innovation Exhibit’ in the Senate today. This collaboration between my Office and the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) unfolds a spectrum of innovation where our commitment to sustainability is evident in the spotlight on natural textile fibers.
Displays include different fabrics, apparel, and interior products made of abaca, bamboo, banana, and pineapple, among others. The exhibition also highlights strides in the handloom weaving sector and the use of natural dyes, weaving a narrative of tradition and modern ingenuity.
