Deliberations on the Proposed FY 2025 budget of the Department of Tourism (November 11, 2024)

We have successfully defended the proposed FY 2025 budget for the Department of Tourism (DOT) and its attached agencies and corporations, securing critical support to fuel growth, innovation, and sustainability in Philippine tourism.

In our deliberations, we highlighted impactful DOT programs such as the Philippine Experience Program, which goes beyond traditional tourist destinations to celebrate our nation’s natural beauty, diverse cultural heritage, and rich culinary traditions. Our discussions also underscored the importance of building tourism infrastructure that prioritizes accessibility, connectivity, and safety for both local and international visitors.

Through partnerships with other government agencies, we aim to strengthen investments in skills training, entrepreneurship, and local economic development, while showcasing the world-renowned warm Filipino hospitality through the Filipino Brand of Service Excellence.

I extend my gratitude to my distinguished colleagues, Senators JV Ejercito, Migz Zubiri, Joel Villanueva, and Minority Leader Koko Pimentel, for their invaluable insights and thoughtful contributions, which have deepened our shared understanding of DOT’s vision. I also thank DOT Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco for her dedicated leadership and commitment to advancing Philippine tourism.
