In our inquiry on the proposed budget of the Department of Transportation (DOTR) for FY 2024, we focused on the importance of strengthening the capabilities of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) to secure our shores given the unique challenges faced as an archipelago. The Senate remains dedicated to providing the necessary budget to modernize PCG, ensuring the protection of our coastlines and seas from both local and foreign threats.
We also underscored the significance of considering the needs of persons with disabilities (PWDs). We are pleased to report that the DOTR has assured us that inclusive mobility will be prioritized in transportation infrastructure projects.
It is crucial to ensure that our stations, pathways, roads, and other transportation infrastructure prioritize safety and accessibility for all individuals.
