Yesterday, I attended the budget hearings of the cultural agencies of government, namely: the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP), Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino (KWF), National Library of the Philippines (NLP), National Archives of the Philippines (NAP), and the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP). I emphasized the importance of sharing and passing down our culture to the next generations.
As a staunch advocate of our diverse culture and rich heritage, I firmly believe that the culture and arts sector embodies the soul of our nation and its promotion is crucial to our national development. Cultivating and nurturing our cultural heritage and artistic endeavors are paramount in ensuring the preservation of our identity as a nation. We must recognize culture and the arts as essential sectors that deserve adequate funding and unwavering support.
