As we conclude the Philippine Environment Month this June, let us remember that our commitment to environmental stewardship continues. While the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) leads our environmental efforts, it is also important to recognize the significant role of the private sector in impacting our ecosystem. Successful partnerships with the private sector amplify impact, enhance knowledge sharing, and foster innovation.
Having led the passage of numerous environmental laws to preserve our biodiversity, such as the Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act of 2001, the Expanded NIPAS Act of 2018, the Climate Change Act of 2009, and most recently, the Philippine Ecosystem and Natural Capital Accounting System (PENCAS) Act, I am eager to continue our efforts and celebrate our achievements together, working towards a greener and brighter planet for everyone.
