The Signing Ceremony for the Memorandum of Agreement for the Philippine Resilience Awards (PRA) 2024 took place last September 18. On the second year of the PRA, we continue to collaborate with the Climate Change Commission, Philippine Commission on Women, National Resilience Council, Private Sector Alliance for Disaster Resilient Societies, and Women’s International Network on Disaster Risk Reduction Philippines to honor women and youth for their remarkable resilience-building efforts amidst the challenges induced by climate change.
As the Global Champion for Resilience of the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR), I fully support programs which advance disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation in the country. It is through initiatives like the PRA that we highlight the vital contributions of the women and youth in climate action, and inspire many Filipinos to take part in these critical efforts.
