Yesterday, I am filled with immense pride as we launched the book “Journey to Climate Resilience: The Philippine Story” and the Filipina Changemakers video documentaries. These works capture the spirit of resilience that defines us as a nation—sharing the stories of communities, leaders, and especially women who have championed transformative climate action. They serve as a testament to the collective efforts of Filipinos to safeguard our future and highlight the remarkable leadership of those driving impactful change in their communities.
I also extend my heartfelt congratulations to the 2024 Philippine Resilience Awards winners. I appreciate your dedication and ingenuity in breathing life into policies I’ve long fought for, ensuring real impact at the grassroots level.
These are the results of our strong collaboration with the Climate Change Commission (CCC)—an institution I proudly championed the creation in 2009 to ensure that we have a dedicated body solely focused on addressing the multifaceted challenges of climate change.
Together, these initiatives and recognitions remind us that resilience is not just a concept but a way of life—one that we must continue for the hope of a more resilient Philippines.
