The fire that devastated the Manila Central Post Office in May 2023 was not just a loss of physical structure but also a loss of our cultural heritage. Together with the cultural government agencies, experts from academia, and stakeholders, we convened to explore sustainable conservation strategies that can be applied in restoring this significant structure.
We reaffirm our commitment to protecting our built environment and preventing the irreparable loss of structures with historical and cultural significance. Our responsibility extends beyond mere reconstruction; it entails a commitment to preserve and safeguard our cultural heritage for generations.
