It was an honor to meet Her Excellency Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, on her inaugural visit to our country. Over the course of almost six decades of bilateral relations, the Philippines and the European Union have forged a strong partnership, focusing on key areas such as climate change and trade.
The Philippines highly values the benefits derived from our collaboration with the EU, including the EU Generalized Scheme of Preferences – Plus (GSP+) and the PH-EU Free Trade Agreement. These programs have played a crucial role in fostering growth and economic opportunities for our nation.
Situated strategically in the Indo-Pacific region, the Philippines presents a lot of investment prospects and business opportunities for the EU. With our dynamic and resilient economy, we remain steadfast in our commitment to further strengthen our ties in the years ahead.
