We had a productive meeting during the Legislative Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC) assembly under President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s leadership. I am honored to be part of the 20-member council that deliberated on the priority measures.
We raised the Philippine Ecosystem and Natural Capital Accounting System (PENCAS) Act and the Blue Economy Act for inclusion in the list of priority bills as the two proposed laws represent the country’s commitment to safeguarding the environment while harnessing the full potential of the Philippines’ marine resources, emphasizing the significance of such action in safeguarding and promoting sustainable development for our people and nation.
As we embark on the Second Regular Session of the 19th Congress, I remain dedicated to working on legislative measures that will address the pressing needs of our people and contribute to improving the condition of our economy, such as the Internet Transaction Act which aims to harness the value and potential of digital transactions; the E-Governance Act which envisions a more cohesive approach in the use of existing and emerging technologies within and across government agencies; the bill establishing the Medical Reserve Corps, which will supplement the existing human health resources and ease the burden in our healthcare system; and the bill on the Magna Carta of Barangay Health Workers, to provide long overdue and well-deserved benefits and incentives to barangay health workers who continue to help nurture the health and wellness of our citizens, among others.
It is my steadfast commitment to promote policies that will foster inclusive growth, enhance social equity, and ensure the well-being of every Filipino citizen. I am ready to collaborate with my fellow lawmakers in advancing our shared vision for a prosperous and resilient Philippines.
