The Official Philippine exhibition at the 59th International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia has come home.
Yesterday, we welcomed home our Philippine Pavilion–“Andi taku e sana, Amung taku di sana/ All of us present, This is our gathering.”
This exhibition does not only immerse us in a multi-sensory exploration but it also proposes a way to strengthen communities through art and culture. It is with great pride and joy that through the participation of the Philippines, we are able to empower our traditional communities and indigenous textiles.
I would like to congratulate the curators, artists, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), and the Philippine Arts in Venice Biennale Coordinating Committee for the successful participation of the Philippine delegation to the prestigious international exhibition.
What was once a vision is now an annual gathering of like-minded individuals who all have the same adoration and appreciation for Philippine Arts and Culture. Together, we shall continue in making our artistic and cultural mark in the global arena.
