What a very productive meeting with the National Book Development Board (NBDB) represented by Chairperson Dante Francis Ang II, Executive Director Charisse Aquino-Tugade, and Director Anthony John Balisi together with Ms. Maria Karina Bolasco of The Ateneo de Manila University Press, Ms. Neni Sta. Romana Cruz, Former NBDB Chairperson, and Ms. Andrea Pasion Flores President of the Book Development Association of the Philippines. Yesterday, we talked about the establishment of book nooks all over the Philippines. Imagine having a book nook in your local palengke or daycare center! Further, we discussed the Book Institute of the Philippines (a training program for writers, publishers, illustrators, and the like) and the other initiatives of the NBDB. Finally, I am very excited to soon announce a global project that I initiated way back in 2015, that will put and highlight the Philippine Book Industry in the international stage, will soon come into fruition!
