Senator Loren Legarda invites everyone to watch the final episode of Buhay na Buhay, featuringKultura ng Pagkapilipino at Pagkabansa (Devotion to the Nation and Being Filipino), on Saturday, April 14, 5:45pm, on GMA News TV.

“The important historical events that we celebrate as Filipinos, such as Independence Day and Rizal Day, bring about a sense of nationalism and bring us pride as Filipinos. This is the culture that we celebrate in the last episode of this special series, Buhay na Buhay,” said Legarda.

Legarda Supports Comprehensive Government Intervention in Boracay

Senator Loren Legarda today supported the government agencies’ plans to rehabilitate the island of Boracay and expressed that these interventions be implemented as well in all other tourist destinations all over the country.

“Boracay’s issue is foremost an environmental concern, and I am glad that our Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) is taking the lead in returning the island back to its pristine state,” Legarda said.

Legarda: Basic Services, Better Opportunities will Keep Children Out of the Streets

In line with the celebration of International Day for Street Children (April 12), Senator Loren Legarda today said that providing Filipino families with basic services and better opportunities will help keep children out of the streets.

Legarda said that addressing the problem requires not only protecting street children but also ensuring that they will go back to their families who would have the means to support them. There are approximately 250,000 street children in the Philippines.
