Three-term Senator, now Deputy Speaker, Loren Legarda filed House Resolution 1681 that will direct the House of Representatives to conduct an inquiry into the implementation of pertinent women-related laws and policies in line with the Updated Philippine Development Plan 2017-2022.
The Updated Philippine Development Plan 2017-2022 is geared towards the Ambisyon Natin 2040 that details strategies, policies, and programs under the three main pillars of Malasakit (building a high-trust society), Pagbabago (transforming towards equity and resiliency), and Patuloy na Pag-unlad (increasing growth potential). Three-term Senator, now Deputy Speaker, Loren Legarda urged the Filipino public to abide by the imposition of enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in the Greater Manila area and to increase adherence to COVID-19 health protocols and guidelines.
“The remarkable increase in the daily positivity rate of COVID-19 cases in the country, at 18 percent recorded on March 28, is very alarming.[1] The additional 10,016 cases as of today, March 29, should serve as a warning to us that we should never be complacent. Our unseen enemy that has cost lives and crippled our livelihoods is still in our midst,” Legarda said.

Three-term Senator, now Deputy Speaker, Loren Legarda today called on Filipinos to participate in this year’s Earth Hour, the global movement to simultaneously switch off lights for one hour to support efforts on environmental protection and climate change, on Saturday, March 27 at 8:30 in the evening.
“I encourage every Filipino to participate in this year’s Earth Hour, convened by World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), as a declaration of our commitment to promote a cleaner, greener, safer and resilient world. Turning off lights and other electrical appliances for an hour may seem insignificant to change the current state of the planet in a snap, but if all of us, the billions of citizens all over the world, will imbibe the message of “Earth Hour”, the impact would be immense. Small acts cannot be underestimated because these small acts, when put together, create big positive changes,” Legarda said.
