July 27, 2015

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines) — Sen. Loren Legarda proudly flaunted her all-Filipino outfit during the third regular session of the 16th Congress and the State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday (July 27).

Her plain black top and pants were accentuated by her accessories made from indigenous materials.

The necklace she wore was from Bontoc; adorning her ears were Ilongot earrings.

Her recycled bag was made by the women of Barangay Holy Spirit.

To complete her look, she wore black pumps made in the shoe capital of the Philippines, Marikina City.

Marikina Mayor Del de Guzman earlier asked lawmakers who will be attending this year’s SONA to consider wearing Marikina-made shoes to boost their city’s shoe industry.

Legarda has been known to wear attires during the annual SONA resembling those from indigenous tribes.

In 2014, Legarda wore a Mandaya outfit, while in 2013, she wore an outfit she described as “fashionalism.”
