Manny-Loren Tandem: We Are for Good Governance

February 12, 2010

CAVITENOS WARMLY WELCOMED NACIONALISTA PARTY STANDARD BEARERS PRESIDENT MANNY VILLAR AND VICE-PRESIDENT LOREN LEGARDA AS THEY SCOURED FOUR TOWNS OF CAVITE AND SPOKE TO VARIOUS GROUPS INCLUDING THE YOUTH, STUDENTS, SENIOR CITIZENS, THE CLERGY, LOCAL FARMERS, HEALTH WORKERS AND TEACHERS.
Loren expressed her commitment and confidence that their team-up’s campaign and platform of governance is based on the core Filipino values of competence, experience and transparency. She stressed that these core values are what will drive their programs for public service.
“I am very grateful for your continued support for me and Manny. It is you who inspire us to lead a government bounded by a principled leadership and governance. Our goal is to end poverty and hunger,” said Loren.
As your Vice-President I would like to be the light and guide of our country and with Manny’s leadership I am sure that we will all sore high and progress as a nation.
She added, “Only those who did not grow up with a silver spoon in their mouths understand what it is to be poor and to work hard to make something out of yourself. Manny and I grew up working for a living and did not have a politically-affluent family to hand over everything to us. We know the poor’s needs and we have the sense of urgency to end poverty.”
Loren further stressed that it is not enough to know what the people need but leaders of this country should have the spirit to fight for them. Leading a country can not be learned over a month or so, it needs determination and experience.
“It is very easy to promise, it is very easy to read speeches to a crowd. But can you fulfill your promises?” Loren challenges her rivals.
“Manny and I will end hunger and poverty, provide affordable and healthy food, provide free medicines and health care for the poor, raise standards of education, generate more jobs, care for our elderly, seek alternative sources of energy and lower power costs. This is not a promise; we have already been pushing for these reforms at a legislative level in our present terms as Senators and we will make sure as leaders of this country these are implemented and delivered,” ended Loren.
