CAMPAIGNING YESTERDAY IN LUCENA CITY, NP-NPC-LDP VICE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE LOREN LEGARDA GOT THE OVERWHELMING SUPPORT OF LOCAL LEADERS, YOUTH, WOMEN, HEALTH WORKERS AND ELDERLY, PROVING ONCE MORE HER STRONG GRASSROOTS SUPPORT.
“I am heartened by the continued show of support. This is the real survey – the people we meet on the ground who have shown overwhelming support to my candidacy,” Legarda said.
She added that her supporters are those who are in the far-flung areas who are not surveyed by pollsters – the farmers, fisherfolk and rural poor.
“These sectors are my constituents, my priority. My strong grassroots support prove the surveys wrong,” said Legarda.
Loren vows to bring government closer to the people through her Lingkod Loren program, her feeding mission and advocacy fair.
She also called for local government empowerment through the effective implementation of the Local Government Code.
Lucena Mayor Mon Talga, Vice Mayor Dada Cavana, Councilor Ramil Talga and PCL Partylist nominee Bennie Bizuela led in endorsing Legarda.
The women’s group Kapisanan ng mga Babaeng Pinuno ng Lungsod ng Lucena (KBPLL), as well as Barangay Health Workers and Purok leaders threw their support behind Legarda for her pro-poor laws and priority for social services like health, education and women’s welfare.
