Loren Ventures Into Pro-Administration Turf

March 6, 2010

NP-NPC-LDP vice presidential candidate Loren Legarda continues her Mindanao campaign on Saturday in Malaybalay in Bukidnon, whose officials are mostly on the side of administration Governor Jose Zubiri.
But Legarda, who will fly in via chopper from Davao City, is not worried about a “hostile reception.” She is, after all, the guest of honor at the Kaamulan Festival at the invitation of Zubiri himself.
“It’s very gracious of Governor Zubiri to make me guest of honor despite our being on opposite sides of the political fence,” Loren said.
Before going to the festivities at the provincial capitol, where she will deliver a speech, Loren will meet first with barangay health officials from Region 10.
Then at noon she will meet with Zubiri and other local officials.
Zubiri of Lakas-Kampi-CMD is the strongest contender of the four candidates for vice governor. Two of the other candidates are independent and one is running under the Liberal Party banner.
The incumbent mayors of the 20 towns and two cities of Bukidnon are all supporters of Zubiri, who expects a landslide win.
Incumbent Vice Governor Alex Calingasan is running for governor also under the Lakas-Kampi-CMD banner.
Most of the provincial board members are for Zubiri.
