Senator Loren Legarda today encouraged everyone, especially Filipinos, to watch the film Taklub, which will be commercially shown starting September 16, 2015 in selected cinemas.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), producer of the film, allowed the distribution and commercial screening of Taklub so it can be seen by a wider audience.

“I hope we can all support this movie, which imparts many lessons in life, including the important message of preparing for disasters and building resilience against natural hazards,” said Legarda, the visionary behind Taklub.

Starting September 16, Taklub, directed by Brillante Mendoza and starring Ms. Nora Aunor, will be shown in SM North Edsa, SM Megamall, SM Manila, SM Fairview, SM Sta. Mesa, Ayala Fairview Terraces, Market Market, Glorietta 4, Trinoma, Gateway and AliMall Cineplex, Robinsons Galleria, Robinsons Tacloban and Gaisano Davao.

Taklub was part of the official selection under the Un Certain Regard category of the 68th Cannes International Film Festival and earned a special commendation from the Festival’s Ecumenical Jury.

It received very good reviews from various local and international publications including Les Inrocks, one of France’s most important culture magazines, The Hollywood Reporter, and Variety, among others. It was also included in Vogue Italia’s ten must-see movies in the 2015 Cannes Film Festival.
