Loren gets Batangas support
May 1, 2010LIPA CITY – NP-NPC-LDP VICE PRESIDENTIAL BET LOREN LEGARDA GOT THE ENDORSEMENT OF BATANGAS LOCAL OFFICIALS IN VOTE-RICH SOUTHERN LUZON.
The wife of late Gov. Armand Sanchez, Mayor Edna Sanchez of Sto. Tomas, Batangas, announced yesterday her gubernatorial candidacy and endorsed Legarda as her VP bet.
4th district Congressman Leandro Mendoza and Board Member Chona Dimayuga who is running for Congress in the 3rd district also threw their support for Legarda.
Mayors of the fourth district, which includes the capital Lipa City and the six municipalities of Ibaan, Padre Garcia, Rosario, San Jose, San Juan and Taysan endorsed Legarda in a mammoth proclamation rally held in front of the Lipa City Cathedral.
“I am heartened by the ardent support of the Batangueños. Once again, this proves that platform-based politics reaches out to more people than negative campaigning. I will continue my good campaign to mobilize grassroots support and advocate for the development of the rural sector,” she said.
