Legarda Welcomes Arrival of UN Special Representative for Disaster Risk Reduction

SENATOR LOREN LEGARDA ANNOUNCED THE ARRIVAL IN THE PHILIPPINES TODAY OF MS. MARGARETA WAHLSTRÖM, SPECIAL REPRESENTATIVE OF THE UNITED NATIONS SECRETARY-GENERAL FOR DISASTER RISK REDUCTION.
Ms. Wahlström will be in the country until May 5 to engage both the government and private sector in strengthening the country’s disaster resiliency initiatives.
Legarda, as the UN Champion for Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation for Asia and the Pacific, will host a meeting with Ms. Wahlström, selected government officials, key business and industry leaders and the academe.
The Senator and Ms. Wahlström will hold a press conference on May 3, 1:00 pm at Boardroom 3, Fourth Floor, New World Hotel in Makati City.
