Legarda lauds the dedication of Frontliners on Day of Valor

April 9, 2021

In commemoration of Araw ng Kagitingan, Deputy Speaker Loren Legarda today paid tribute to the country’s modern-day heroes: doctors, nurses, health workers, policemen and members of the armed forces, teachers, the utility staff, those working in groceries and retail, food and cargo delivery drivers, fisherfolk and farmers, market vendors, journalists, security personnel, the OFWs, and the dedicated government workers, both at the national and local levels, who tirelessly continue to work in the frontlines during this health crisis.

“I salute our country’s frontliners for their sacrifices and unparalleled contribution in our fight against COVID-19. They valiantly face our invisible enemy everyday to help the public survive and our communities to thrive amidst this pandemic as they courageously performed their duties to provide the essential services that we need in these trying times,” Legarda said.

As we commemorate today the bravery of our soldiers who fought in Bataan during World War II, let us not forget to honor our frontliners who continue to render their service with unwavering valor. I salute our frontliners, our modern-day heroes, for their dedication to serve the country and our people under tremendous stress and danger despite knowing that they are exposing themselves to the threat of the virus,” Legarda concluded.***
