SENATOR LOREN LEGARDA TODAY JOINED FILIPINOS WHO CONTINUE TO REMEMBER THE BIRTHDAY OF FERNANDO POE JR. (FPJ) EVEN AFTER HIS DEATH, AND EXTENDED HER GREETINGS TO HIS WIDOW, SUSAN ROCES, AND DAUGHTER, GRACE POE-LLAMANZARES ON THE RECENT CONFERMENT OF THE NATIONAL ARTIST AWARD TO FPJ.
Legarda, who was Poe’s running mate in the 2004 Presidential Elections, said that the conferment of the Order of National Artists for Cinema (posthumous) to FPJ was a timely gift for his birthday and is a significant honor for his family.
“I extend my greetings to Susan and Grace as they celebrate FPJ’s 73rd birth anniversary. Several years after the death of FPJ, the presidential candidate who was cheated in 2004, his fans and supporters continue to commemorate his birthday and join his family in remembering his legacy especially as a veteran actor and director,” she said.
“This Order of National Artists for Cinema that was recently conferred to him is a timely gift and fitting tribute to a man who was loved by many Filipinos,” Legarda concluded.
