Legarda affirms strong confidence and trust in Senate’s new leadership

Senator Loren Legarda today expressed confidence and respect for the new Senate leadership, led by Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, Senate President Pro Tempore Panfilo “Ping” Lacson, and Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri.

Legarda emphasized the importance of integrity, diligence, and unity at the helm of the Senate, expressing confidence that these guiding values will advance effective governance and deliver meaningful progress for the Filipino people.

Legarda recognized the defining qualities that shape effective leadership in the Senate, reflecting on the example set by Senate President Sotto.

“Senator Sotto commands respect through fairness, humility, and his ability to unite diverse voices. His leadership reminds us that the Senate functions best when debate sharpens judgment and unity springs from conviction. These are qualities tested by time and proven by service,” Legarda said.

She also commended the resolute commitment and exemplary standards set by Senator Lacson in public service, saying that “His diligence does not rest on rhetoric but on facts that cannot be silenced, on unrelenting investigation, and on a discipline that few can match.”

On Senate Majority Leader Zubiri, Legarda stressed, “He has consistently proven himself to be a consensus builder, a consultative leader, and a legislator with over two decades of service marked by diligence and perfect attendance.”

The four-term Senator expressed her trust in the Senate’s future under its new leadership, stating that the combined experience and dedication of Sotto, Lacson, and Zubiri will keep the Senate steadfast, responsive, and united in serving the public. Legarda voiced her optimism that the Chamber will uphold its duty to the nation, guided by integrity, consensus, and accountability, and deliver tangible results for all Filipinos. (30)
