Inday Loren Welcomes Hugpong ng Pagbabago in Antique
March 26, 2019Senator “Inday Loren” Legarda today welcomed the Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) in a political rally held in the capital town of San Jose de Buenavista, Antique.
The regional party led by Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte visited the provincial capital to lay down its platform for Antiqueños and all Filipinos, with emphasis on bringing positive change, transformation, progress, and stability in the country.
It was originally formed in 2018 to pursue security and development in Davao City. For the 2019 elections, it has forged alliances, including with the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC), to which Legarda belongs.
Legarda expressed her desire to work with the HNP and its candidates towards their common goal of improving the lives of every Filipino.
“I have worked with many of HNP’s candidates and I know the kind of work and commitment they have to serving the Filipino people. Likewise, I am serious about my commitment to uplift the lives of every Antiqueño in our province. I have ensured and will continue to ensure that government programs will reach our people,” said Legarda.
She explained that she seeks to provide every Antiqueño with a secure life, bringing educational programs, livelihood and job opportunities, and health services, among others, closer to her kasimanwas.
She added that her programs in agriculture, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) development, tourism, and care for the environment run parallel with the programs of HNP. Legarda has authored and sponsored many of the country’s landmark laws, such as the Magna Carta for MSMEs, the Barangay Kabuhayan Act, Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act, Anti-Violence Against Women and Children Act, Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act, and the country’s eight enviromental laws. She has also sponsored the General Appropriations Act or the national budget since 2015.
Legarda also commended the Hugpong ng Pagbabago for fearlessly forwarding their call for effective leadership and good governance.
“Our united aim is to give every Filipino a comfortable life and bright future through good governance and effective leadership. This is a great challenge but not impossible especially with our strong desire and dedication to be of service to the Filipino people,” Legarda concluded.
