Inday Loren Urges Antiqueños to Avail of International Scholarship

Senator Loren Legarda encouraged her fellow Antiqueños and citizens of Western Visayas to avail of the Stipendum Hungaricum Scholarship Programme offered by the Hungarian Government in coordination with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

Legarda, Chair of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, said that the Hungarian Government, through its Embassy in the Philippines, is looking for interested applicants for select courses for bachelor and master studies, as well as doctoral studies in any academic field.

“This is a great opportunity for those who wish to complete a bachelor’s degree or take further studies. Exposing our youth to the vast resource of knowledge and new learning environment in reputable institutions abroad will certainly enhance their confidence as individuals and this confidence will enable them to actively participate in nation-building,” Legarda said.

The Stipendum Hungaricum Scholarship Programme offers the following study levels:

  1. Full degree bachelor studies: agriculture and sustainable development, medicine, water management engineering and hydrology, architecture and protection of cultural heritage, natural sciences, environmental studies
  2. Full degree master studies: agriculture and sustainable development, medicine, water management engineering and hydrology, architecture and protection of cultural heritage, natural sciences, environmental studies
  1. Full degree doctoral studies: in any academic field

“I encourage my fellow Antiqueños and my kasimanwa in Region 6 to take this opportunity to study abroad. Go forth, hone your skills and utilize your talents, seek knowledge and wisdom for personal growth, and commit yourselves to be future leaders that will contribute to a sustainable and empowered Philippines,” Legarda concluded.

The Stipendum Hungaricum Scholarship Programme opens thirty-five (35) slots for the Philippines annually. Provisions covered by the scholarship to successful applicants are free tuition fee, monthly stipend depending on the study program, accommodation contribution, and medical insurance.
