Inday Loren Joins Call for Peaceful and Secure Elections

January 13, 2019

Senator “Inday Loren” Legarda today joined calls for the conduct of peaceful and secure campaign and elections in the Province of Antique.

“I am one with the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), the Philippine National Police (PNP), and the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) in calling for the conduct of safe and peaceful campaigning and elections,” said Legarda, who is running for Congressman of the Lone District of Antique.

Legarda, who signed the COMELEC’s Integrity Pledge, said she hopes that all candidates will spend their campaign days presenting their platforms and educating the people on important issues that need to be addressed in the province.

“Poverty is our enemy, not one another. Our goal of bringing progress to our province should not be marred by violence, black propaganda, and mudslinging. We all want to serve our kasimanwas and at the end of the day, we are all Antiqueños and we must respect each other,” she stressed.

“Let us all work together not only in making this elections safe and peaceful but also in uplifting the lives of all Antiqueños and making our beloved province truly progressive,” Legarda concluded.
