Dayaw Features Various Forms of Weaving

March 9, 2017

Senator Loren Legarda invites everyone to watch the second episode of Dayaw season 3 on Thursday, March 9, 6:30pm, on the ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC), with livestreaming on abs-cbnnews.com/live and on ANC’s Facebook page.

“Hinabing Lakas (Part 2)” focuses on expressive fibers of distinct cultures, and how woven fibers express our identity, celebrate life, and represent the strength and resilience of the weavers.

“This episode looks into various forms of weaving—from textiles and clothing to baskets, mats or banig, headgear, and even the palaspas. These weavers are not just mere craftsmen because weaving has become second-nature to them, a means of expressing identity and celebrating life itself,” said Legarda.

Dayaw, conceptualized and hosted by Senator Legarda, and produced by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and ANC, is a six-part, 30-minute weekly documentary series that focuses on the preservation of the country’s culture and heritage.

It is shown every Thursday, 6:30pm on ANC and ANC HD, with livestreaming on abs-cbnnews.com/live and the channel’s official Facebook page, and aired simultaneously on The Filipino Channel (TFC). Replays on Thursday 10:30pm, Friday 1:30am and 2:30pm,Saturday 3:00am and 8:30am, and Sunday 11:00am.
