Dayaw Features Harvest Rituals in Luzon

Senator Loren Legarda invites the public to watch the fourth episode of Dayaw Season 5:Pagdiwang at Pasasalamat on Thursday, July 12, 6:30 pm, on the ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC), with livestreaming on abs-cbnnews.com/live and on ANC’s Facebook page.

Episode 4 titled, Ani (Harvest), will take on the harvest rituals in different parts of Luzon in celebration of our agricultural heritage rooted in our respect and care for the environment. Scientists, agriculturalists, and farmers share the marriage of science and folk wisdom as the audience get to witness the traditions of the planting seasons still being practiced today.

“In this episode, we take a look at the time-honored rituals related to harvest in different parts of Luzon, the various festivals such as the Pahiyas festival in Lucban, Quezon and the Imbayah festival in Banaue, Ifugao, and the stories behind these festivities. We will experience how the cycles of planting and harvesting nurtured not just human life, but all the forms of creative expression that dignified and enriched it,” Legarda added.

Dayaw, conceptualized and hosted by Legarda, and produced by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and ANC, is a six-part, 30-minute weekly documentary series that focuses on the preservation of the country’s culture and heritage.

It is shown every Thursday, at 6:30 pm on ANC, with live streaming on news.abs-cbn.com/live and on ANC’s Facebook page, and aired simultaneously on The Filipino Channel (TFC). Replays are on Friday 1:30am and 2:30pmSaturday 3:00am and 8:30am, Sunday 11:30am, and Monday 1:30pm.
