Award-winning documentary series ‘Dayaw’ airs on Bilyonaryo News Channel anew

February 26, 2026

The multi-awarded documentary series Dayaw, hosted by Senator Loren Legarda, returns to television this weekend on the Bilyonaryo News Channel (BNC), inviting viewers once more to rediscover the living traditions, ingenuity, and wisdom of indigenous Filipino communities.

BNC, the nation’s fastest-growing dedicated news network, will premiere Season 3 on Saturday, February 28, 5:30 pm, with replays every Sunday at the same time slot.

Each season features six 30-minute episodes that focus on championing cultural preservation and awareness of our cultural heritage through in-depth, beautifully crafted storytelling.

In each episode, Legarda guides viewers through the unique customs and practices binding indigenous communities, among them their reverence for nature, resilience, and surviving through the centuries.

Season 3 tackles indigenous heritage expressed through crafts, weaving, and ancestral building techniques, highlighting Filipino identity, resilience, and connection to nature. Viewers will see the indigenous techniques of weaving indigenous fibers and the use of natural resources such as wood and stone to build ancestral boats and structures.

Meanwhile, Season 4 features Gawad sa Manlilikha ng Bayan (GAMABA) awardees, national living treasures recognized by the National Commission for the Culture and the Arts (NCCA) for their exceptional mastery of traditional arts and contributions to Filipino culture.

Among them are the late Samaon Sulaiman (Kutyapi master) and Lang Dulay (T’nalak textile weaver), and living treasures Teofilo Garcia (tabungao maker) and Alonzo Saclag (Kalinga dancer/musician).

“Dayaw,” derived from a word that means “to present or wear with pride,” aptly represents its mission to promote the Filipino spirit, highlighting the beauty, dignity, and resilience of indigenous heritage.

As a staunch advocate of the protection and preservation of cultural heritage, Legarda continues to amplify the voices of indigenous artisans and communities, urging greater appreciation for their craft and stronger institutional support for their protection.
