Antique PESO wins the “National Best PESO Award” for the second consecutive year, through Senator Inday Loren Legarda’s continued support to DOLE’s Programs.
October 28, 2025The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has once again named the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of Antique as the “National Best PESO” under the Second-Class Province Category, a national recognition largely made possible through the sustained efforts and support of Antiqueña Senator Inday Loren Legarda and DOLE’s programs in the province.
For the past eight years, Senator Legarda has consistently provided funding and support to various DOLE initiatives, directly contributing to the strengthened implementation of employment and livelihood services in the province, and benefitting thousands of Antiqueños.
Through the DOLE TUPAD (Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers) Program, thousands of Antiqueños received short-term employment since 2017.
Through Senator Legarda’s efforts, a total of 5,940 individuals have received livelihood assistance through the DOLE Kabuhayan Program from 2017 to 2023. This year, 18 associations have received assistance through various projects that involved cattle and goat raising, poultry and duck raising, provision of fishing materials, sari-sari stores, rice retailing, carinderias, food vending, pastry and baking, and sewing enterprises.
The DOLE Government Internship Program (GIP) has provided meaningful work experience to 9,377 Antiqueños, helping young graduates gain exposure to public service and employment readiness.
Senator Legarda expressed her appreciation to DOLE for its continued partnership and to the PESO team for their dedication in ensuring that programs reach the people who need them most.
“This recognition reflects years of shared effort to provide jobs, livelihood, and hope to our people. I thank DOLE and the PESO team for their commitment to service. We will continue working together to make sure every Antiqueño has access to opportunities for a better life,” Senator Legarda said.
The back-to-back national recognition of Antique PESO stands as a testament to Senator Legarda’s enduring commitment to empowering communities through inclusive employment and livelihood programs.
