Legarda supports Halal-Friendly Philippines Pavilion at 3rd Travel Sale Expo 2025
September 27, 2025Senator Loren Legarda, Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Culture and the Arts and a steadfast advocate of inclusive and sustainable development, expressed her strong support for the Halal-Friendly Philippines Pavilion at the 3rd Travel Sale Expo (TSE) 2025.
The Pavilion brings together an array of Halal-certified products and services proudly developed by Filipino micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). It serves as a vital platform to elevate local enterprises into the mainstream of tourism, wellness, and global trade. Legarda emphasized that Halal-friendly initiatives are not only responsive to the cultural traditions of Muslim Filipinos and the rapidly expanding international Muslim travel market, but also embody standards of safety and quality assurance that resonate with consumers of every background.
“Halal is a forward-looking standard that enhances our competitiveness across industries,” Legarda said. “By supporting our MSMEs to meet these benchmarks, we enable them to enter international supply chains, open new export markets, and generate more jobs for our people. This is both cultural diplomacy and economic strategy, strengthening our standing in global tourism while deepening inclusivity at home.”
Legarda also stressed that supporting Halal initiatives advances the country’s compliance with international market requirements, ensuring that Filipino products can compete in regions where Halal certification is a prerequisite for trade access. Such initiatives also position the Philippines as a preferred destination for global travelers seeking accessibility, diversity, and respect.
The 3rd Travel Sale Expo (TSE) runs from September 26 to 28, 2025, at the Megatrade Halls of SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City. The event is staged by the Global Tourism Business Association and OneKlik Events Management Services in partnership with the Industry Development and Investment Promotions Division of Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Halal Project Management Office, the Boracay Malay Aklan LGU Tourism, Tourism Malaysia Manila, the Malaysia Embassy Manila, and the Philippine Retirement Authority (PRA), and is co-presented and supported by the Department of Tourism (DOT). Legarda, suportado and Halal-Friendly Philippines Pavilion sa 3rd Travel Sale Expo 2025
