Legarda commends Libertad, Antique for Winning 2nd Place in DILG Digital Governance Awards
December 18, 2020Deputy Speaker and Antique Lone District Representative Loren Legarda commended the Municipality of Libertad, headed by Mayor Mary Jean Te, for winning Second Place, Best in LGU Empowerment (G2G) Award, Municipal Level in the Digital Governance Awards 2020 given by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
“I wish to extend my warmest congratulations on the latest achievement of the Municipality of Libertad. It is an honor to have one of our municipalities recognized by the DILG for having established one of the best digital solutions in providing basic public service in this time of pandemic.” Legarda said.
The Digital Governance Awards is given by the DILG to local government units who have successfully adopted digital measures in delivering basic public services amid the COVID-19 pandemic. There are 108 local government-led programs which competed in this year’s Digital Governance Awards. The awards were given in five categories: Best in Customer Empowerment (G2C) Award, Best in Business Empowerment (G2B) Award, Best in LGU Empowerment (G2G) Award, Best in Government Internal Process (G2I) Award, and Best in COVID-19 Pandemic Response (G2P) Award. The Municipality of Libertad won Second Place in the G2G category alongside Quezon City and the Province of Laguna.
“We must continue learning and innovating to achieve our goal in providing the best service for our kasimanwa. I laud the Municipality of Libertad for their initiatives and efforts and I hope that this will be emulated by other LGUs in the province. With the use of modern technology, we can provide new and effective ways to respond to and address the needs of our constituents,” Legarda added.***
