Hibla Travelling Exhibition Comes Home to Manila

After travelling to seven destinations abroad—London, Lisbon, Madrid, Washington D.C., New York City, Hawai’i, and Frankfurt—the Hibla ng Lahing Filipino Travelling Exhibition, featuring “Piña-Seda: Pineapple and Silk Cloths from the Tropics,” is home for three months.

 

“I encourage everyone to visit the exhibit to see what we have been showcasing to the world and to also appreciate our woven and embroidered fabrics made of pineapple and silk,” said Senator Loren Legarda, patron of the first permanent textile gallery at the National Museum.

Inday Loren Receives Datu Sumakwel Award from Antiqueños

Senator Inday Loren Legarda today received the “Datu Sumakwel Award”, the highest recognition conferred by the Bugal Kang Antique Awards held at Eagle’s Hotel in San Jose, Antique.

The Datu Sumakwel Award is given to an Antiqueño or juridical persons in recognition of their service for the development of Antique.

Legarda Extends Antique Harvest Fair

Following the success of the first Antique Harvest in Robinsons Place Antique last December 14 to 16, Senator Inday Loren Legarda has extended the run of the fair from December 26 to 30, 2018.

 

“I am happy with the success of Antique Harvest as we were able to promote our local products and our cultural heritage, at the same time, it brought additional income to our local producers who participated in the fair,” said Legarda, who partnered with the Department of Tourism (DOT) to bring the Philippine Harvest to Antique.
