Senator Loren Legarda today lauded the climate agreement forged in Paris following the two-week climate change negotiations involving 195 nations.
“The world has come together in this historic meeting to agree on the actions we need to take for the survival of mankind and of earth itself. The agreement may not be 100% the way we want it to be, but I am optimistic that all nations will be committed to doing their fair share of the deal,” said Legarda, UNISDR Global Champion for Resilience.

Permanent evacuation centers with green design will be constructed in every region starting next year, said Senator Loren Legarda, chairperson of the Senate Committee on Finance.

Senator Loren Legarda, Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Finance, today said that the unpaid disability pension for surviving spouses of World War II veterans will now be funded, for the very first time since the law on upgrading benefits for military veterans was enacted in 1994.
Under the proposed 2016 national budget, the amount of Php2.723 Billion has been allocated for the payment of total administrative disability (TAD) pension for surviving spouses of deceased World War II veterans.
