SENATE PRESIDENT PRO TEMPORE LOREN LEGARDA’S MOTHER’S DAY MESSAGE

On this Mother’s Day, we celebrate all the mothers and mother figures in our lives including fathers who stood as mothers, sisters and aunts who step in to care for siblings and relatives, nannies who became part of the family, and the mothers who passed away but continue to be remembered and cherished.

We also celebrate our beloved Mother Earth. Just like our own mothers, she has provided us with a safe and supportive environment to grow and develop. She has provided us with everything we need to survive and thrive—the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the food we eat.

Today, in the same way that we show gratitude and love to our mothers, we can also show appreciation for Mother Earth by taking steps to protect and preserve the environment, like reducing our carbon footprint, conserving water, reducing waste, and supporting sustainable practices.
