QUEZON CITY, Aug. 6 (PIA) — Senator Loren Legarda urges the public and the government to maximize the benefits of malunggay.

Senator Loren Legarda has proposed amendments to the Tropical Fabrics Law of 2004, also known as R.A. 9242, to ensure realistic and stronger implementation of the law, which mandates public officials and employees to wear uniforms made from natural fibers in the country.

Sen. Loren Legarda said on Sunday she has proposed the creation of a new department to take over the housing-related functions of several agencies and address the four million housing backlog, which represents one fourth of the population.
