MANILA, Philippines — Dynamite fishing has killed two dwarf sperm whales and 21 dolphins have been killed in the waters of Mindanao’s surfing haven, Siargao Island, despite a ban on the practice under the Fisheries Code of the Philippines, Senator Loren Legarda said Wednesday.

Senator Loren Legarda unveiled on Saturday a new media research center and library at the ancestral home of the Bautista-Legarda Family in Malabon, Metro Manila.
The facility which houses extensive memorabilia dating from Legarda’s ABS-CBN News stint with the late Angelo Castro Jr., vintage photos and interviews with Nelson Mandela and others, will be open on a limited basis to students and other research-academic groups.
